2025 Grand Marshal
Gary Remlinger
The Carnation 4th of July Celebration Committee would like to introduce your Grand Marshal for this year's parade - Gary Remlinger!
Gary Remlinger is as much a part of Carnation as the river, the farmland, and the Fourth of July itself. For the past 80 years, he’s called this town home—and in many ways, Carnation has grown up around him. Known for his quiet work ethic, generosity, and deep sense of responsibility to the land and the people who live here, Gary represents a way of life that values community, tradition, and doing things with heart.
From the moment he put a down payment on a small farm in 1963, Gary’s impact has stretched far beyond the fields. Through Remlinger Farms, he didn’t just build a business—he created a place where families gather, where kids come to learn and play, and where generations connect through shared traditions. The farm’s cultural significance was nationally recognized when it was included in the Library of Congress Local Legacies Project, highlighting its role as a beloved community gathering place and symbol of Carnation’s agricultural roots. Gary has helped shape Carnation not just by what he’s grown from the ground, but by the values he’s lived every day: integrity, humility, and care for others. Carnation is better because of Gary Remlinger—and for Gary, there’s never been a better place than Carnation
Grand Marshal Nomination
Each year we welcome the community to nominate the Grand Marshal for each year’s parade. They ride in the front of the parade and are accompanied with a banner. When selecting a Grand Marshal, we look to celebrate a person’s contribution to our community.
Nominations are open to the public year-round.
The Committee reviews the nominations and then selects and notifies this year’s Grand Marshal.
